Having the ability to create interactive ideas through the art of coding, and that wonderful feeling of accomplishment when the idea you had is now right there infront of you, ready for you to share. This is one of the main reasons why I love coding & design.
Both self-taught and college educated, I first learned the basics of web development at a local community college and continued to learn on my own through online courses and personal projects. Another reason why I enjoy web design & development is because the technologies involved are always changing, which means you're constantly being pushed to learn new ways of developing products.
Here are a few examples of my design work:

Here is an example of a landing page I put together for Wine BC. It's a simple responsive design demostrating a single campaign objective with one call-to-action. The ultimate goal is to capture data/email addresses allowing Wine BC to connect with it's users.
Known for their larger than normal portions at an affordable price, Samurai Sushi is a popular local favorite spot for sushi lovers and my goal is to re-design their website to help improve the user experience and ultimately increase conversions.
Upon evaluating the original Samurai Sushi website, I observed some issues that would negatively impact the user experience. The primary areas that could be improved include the site’s layout design and visual hierarchy. The layout design, for example, was greatly affected by the lack of alignment of the website’s visual elements. Also with a high percentage of customers ordering take-out, the website needed to be responsive for friendly viewing on mobile devices.
My main goal is to keep it simple, a one page minimalistic layout design that's easy on the eyes, allowing the user to easily navigate to each section with the push of a button.
Brew Mapper's objective is to help craft beer lovers easily locate local craft breweries and pubs that sell craft beer in Vancouver. The goal is to implement a simple responsive design that uses google maps as a it's main feature to pin point brewery locations.
A contiunous project in the works, I donate my time to Brew Mapper when needed. This is a fun project, enabling me to practice UX/UI design, coding, social networking, photography and most of all, drink great beer and get to know the craft brewery business owners for possible future projects.
